Black Friday Specials!

Good morning friends! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving (for those of you that celebrate it)! I have to tell you, I never felt more blessed yesterday. I still had a lot of work to do to get the store ready for Black Friday; while I worked, my husband prepared the entire meal! Isn't he the best? He is such a huge supporter of Die Cuts R Us; he knows it brings me lots of happiness.
Oh, and our 4 year old, Noah, just brought a huge smile to my day. Yesterday morning, he asked what we were going to have for Thanksgiving dinner. I started out with saying "turkey". He immediately seemed stress, and went on to say he didn't want to eat turkey; when asked why, he said "because they move around a lot". My sweet boy!
Black Friday sales are under way here at Die Cuts R Us! Most items will remain with sale prices throughout the weekend. There are a few categories like The Greeting Farm, adhesives, and embossing folders that are one day sales! I am available if you have any questions.

Product Spotlight!

It's time for another
Die Cuts R Us Product Spotlight

This week the product is one of my favorite things...Embossing Folders!!!
The Die Cuts R Us shop carries many embossing folders, but the 3 that I am focusing on today are:

NEW Emboss a2 Stars
NEW Emboss a2 Stars
$4.99 $3.99

NEW Emboss a2 Fleur de Lis
NEW Emboss a2 Fleur de Lis
$4.99 $3.99

NEW Emboss a2 Victoria
NEW Emboss a2 Victoria
$4.99 $3.99

I could go on and on about the quality of these folders, that fact that I have used mine over and over and over again and they are still as good as new. I could also mention that with the addition of an embossed panel of card stock, you can change an ok card into a WOW card!!
I could throw in the fact that embossing folders are easy to store, easy to use and easy to purchase here at the DCRU store...but I won't bore you with details I'll just show you some cards I designed using the 3 Cuttlebug Embossing Folders listed above:

I paired, Flapper Anya with the Victoria folder and colored her with
Ciao Copic Markers
for this perfectly pink combination.

The Stars folder was a perfect fit for this handsome fella, who can also be found in the DCRU Shop HERE and colored him with Ciao Copic Markers. I embellished with 2 strips of Orange Paper called Tea Cakes from the Nook and Pantry Collection . I cut the word BUDDY from a piece of paper from the Blue Skies Collection by American Crafts .

Using the Fleur de Lis Folder, helped to create an elegant, yet masculine theme for this handsome little man, Edward and I topped it off with 3 fabulous brown brads by Basic Grey.

Hope you have enjoyed the DCRU Product Spotlight featuring Cuttlebug Embossing Folders.

The Winner's Spotlight

Happy Friday! Thanks so much for stopping by! I am very excited to introduce you to Jennifer!
Jennifer is the winner of last week's "Emboss Something" challenge.

Here is her winning card:

Isn't The Greeting Farm's Megan super cute! She is one of my favorites. I love how you colored her hair!
I really enjoy this weekly post; I enjoy getting to know the wonderful friends we have here at Die Cuts R Us! Your support is so appreciated; more than you know. Here is my mini interview with Jennifer.

What are 3 items you just can't create without?
The 3 items I just can't do with out are:  Tombow mono multi glue, my nesties, and cuttlebug.
What do you try to avoid when you create?
I try to avoid cutting into fresh card stock.  I like using my scraps.
Three words that describe you.
crafty, quiet, and thoughtful.
Is there a crafting technique that you would just love to learn?
Yes, there are several crafting techniques I would love to learn.  There are too many to lists.
Name one embellishment that will almost always be found on your cards.
I love to use ribbon. I think that is my most used embellishment.

Jennifer, I like using my scraps too! I save even the smallest pieces, and have actually ended up using them.
Hope everyone has a happy scrappin' and card makin' weekend!

Discovery Zone

Hiya! I've got a super cute discovery for you today! Take a look at this cute card! Isn't that screen door super cute! Miss Anya Autumn looks so adorable!

“Screen Door Cards” by Michelle Polizzi, aka, Michelle’s Inky Fingers. Michelle won 2nd runner up in Country Woman Magazine’s Craft Bazaar Contest in October/November 2008, and was featured again in the August/September 2009 issue with a 2 page spread.
Michelle says:  “I created this Screen Door by accident really, I was working on sketching a door & cardmaking at my dining room table when my husband had some leftover screening after fixing a window.  It was totally a fluke!  I looked at this scrap of vinyl and said ‘I can do this!!!’  I got out my colored pencils, stamps, craft knife and anything that can  be colored, embossed, or taped to complete these totally unique cards!”
Her Etsy store is here:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/michellesinkyfingers  where you can purchase the card kit, a template only or even already assembled cards.
Check out her blog tomorrow, November 20 for an entire tutorial detailing the assembling as well as more samples!  Click here:  http://michellesinkyfingers.blogspot.com. Oh, and not only that, but Michelle is going to offer blog candy tomorrow too! One lucky winner will win this super cute Miss Anya Autumn screen door card; and one lucky winner will win a card kit! All you have to do is stop by her blog starting tomorrow, and leave a comment on her tutorial post. Last day to enter for the giveaway is Sunday, the 22nd. All I have to say is... can I enter for a chance to win too!

Here's another sample!

Wednesday Happenings

Hello everyone! How is your week going so far? Mine has been quite interesting. My mom has not been able to babysit my little ones for two days now; hopefully she will feel better soon. Thankfully, I am not too far behind.
I am really excited! I will be adding May Arts ribbon to the store very soon. Hopefully within the next week. Then, I have been busy preparing for Black Friday specials; please mark your calendars, because there will be lots of surprises.

The new Just Rite Stampers are now in stock!

So, who is going to see New Moon on Friday? My husband and I received two free tickets from Best Buy to see the movie on Thursday night at 9:30PM. 2.5 hours ahead of the midnight rush! I just saw Twilight for the first time three months ago, so I am looking forward to it, especially because it means... date night! Now, if I can just get him to take me to dinner first. Heehee!
Hope you have a happy scrappin' and card makin' day!
